Organized by METAA (Media Experiments in Technology and Art Association), localhost:2026 brings together artists and designers who question the uses of digital technologies and explore new critical and creative forms.

Break the Loop is the theme of the 2026 edition. In music as in programming, the loop is a fundamental structure, offering reassurance through its predictability. A central element of creative practice, it appears in the repetition of gestures, processes, and methodologies.

Breaking the loop means interrupting “what keeps running” and taking the time to question our habits and the place we give to automation. It means opening practices to alternatives better aligned with the rhythms of living systems.
