Volkskrant magazine is the weekly magazine of the Dutch newspaper de Volkskrant. Two interviews are featured here: one from September 26, 2026, with children’s book authors Els Pelgrom, and one from October 24, 2026, featuring an interview with author Raoul de Jong.

For these interviews, designer/art director Jaap Biemans (Coverjunkie) brought back a guest typeface he had previously used for the magazine but which had not appeared in its pages for quite some years: Krul by Retype Foundry is combined in these interviews with the magazine’s regular font selection. The photography is credited to Gerard Wessel (Els Pelgrom) and Aisha Zeijpveld (Raoul de Jong).
