Pizzeria of Promises (PoP) is a mobile pizzeria that turns your broken design promises or otherwise into personal pizzas to be smelled, chewed, swallowed, and ultimately digested. While giving voice to something can be the first step towards understanding it, PoP thinks consuming it is far more satisfying!

What would it mean to literally eat your dreams? What do our compulsive failures teach us about the true rate of change, the caustic effects of solutionist imaginaries, and the limits of utopic dreaming? PoP is a site to sit with disappointment and expectation, whilst contemplating our collective agencies in relation to design, design week, and everyday lives.

Share your woes. Eat your feelings and dream of stranger days.

Pizzeria of Promises is developed by Pete Fung, with graphic design by Manon Fraser, and run together with unaccompanied foreign minors at Fondazione Fratelli di San Francesco, as part of the CIVICITY design residency, curated by Collective Works, hosted by Terzo Paesaggio, supported by Nieuwe Instituut, cheFare, and Embassy and Consulate-General of the Netherlands in Italy. Pizza dough is provided by the Madre Project from Terzo Paesaggio.

The entire project was typeset in Farmacia Soft by Nguyen Gobber, with photo documentation by Anwyn Howarth.
