How can poetry be revitalized through digital technologies by creating a relevant online archive? Developed for the “Printemps de la Poésie 2021”, Ptyxel is a web platform that allows visitors to browse poetic videos by collection. The site brings together multimedia poetry created in Western Switzerland.
The design was created by INT Studio, who describe the project as follows:
In terms of design, we drew inspiration from the view of a book’s spine on a library shelf. The width of the spine varies depending on the number of videos per collection, thus functioning as a data visualization.
The menu at the top of the page allows users to sort collections by keywords. The width of each collection increases or decreases depending on the number of videos matching the selected keywords. After watching a video, our system suggests others across the collections. These suggestions are not based on algorithms but on human curation. The platform is also fully optimized for mobile use.
The website is composed in ToParcel.
