The ZHdK Sustainability Report 2024–2025, designed by Colin Kühnis in collaboration with Nico Frei, documents the university’s efforts and progress in sustainability across different areas of operation and education.
The publication is based on a clear visual system in which coloured areas represent the values of individual topics, with all areas on a page adding up to 100%. Varying column structures allow the system to adapt to different categories and years while maintaining a consistent visual language throughout the report.
OO Arketa by Outline Online is used for numbers and technical information, while Antique Legacy by Optimo is used for body text and headlines. With its monospaced structure and references to both digital text environments and classic typewriters, OO Arketa reinforces the technical character of the publication and creates a distinct contrast with Antique Legacy.
The design builds on the visual language of previous ZHdK sustainability reports, particularly the interplay between typography and graphics, while developing it towards a more technical and systematic approach.
