Alejandra was guided by the power lines connecting the various towns of northern Santa Fe province to find closed rural schools. She traveled the area and found them.

Permanencias. La vida después en las escuelas rurales (“Enduring Presence: Life Afterwards in Rural Schools”) brings together photographs of rural schools that have closed in the Argentine provinces of Santa Fe, Entre Ríos, Chaco, and Neuquén, between 2023 and 2025.
