For thousands of years, dragons have captured the human imagination. From ancient mythology and East Asian traditions to contemporary fantasy, these fascinating creatures have taken on countless forms and meanings across cultures.

The interdisciplinary exhibition Drachen. Mythos und Wirklichkeit / Dragons. Myth and Reality at Hessisches Landesmuseum Darmstadt explores the dragon from both art historical and scientific perspectives, bringing together extraordinary artworks, ancient fossils, natural history specimens and historical documents.

The visual identity moves away from familiar mythical clichés, introducing the dragon as a bold graphic character. Built around a colourful, reduced illustration, the visual language plays with scale, movement and tension. The illustration extends across a wide range of touchpoints, from posters and invitations to spatial graphics and educational materials, creating a playful and recognisable presence throughout the exhibition.
