Through its print publication and digital platform, BESIDE elevates stories, ideas, and know-how to build meaningful lives and to imagine a collective future at the crossroads of nature and culture.

Issue 16 centers on resilience as a generative force. Beyond the ability to adapt, resilience is about how we weather storms—the force that allows us to overcome obstacles and turn adversity into an opportunity to reimagine the future. It’s that moment when, as balance is disrupted or reality starts to crumble, humans—like nature—choose to rebuild with what remains. And to learn how to welcome another tomorrow.

This publication was founded and published by Jean-Daniel Petit, with Marie Charles Pelletier as editor-in-chief. The editorial team also includes Guillaume Rivest as editor and fact checker, Lee Tipton and Liette Lemay as copy editors, and Bronwyn Haslam, Pablo Strauss, and Geneviève Deschamps as translators. The art direction and graphic design were created by Cécile Tousignant, with infographics by Steve Desmarais. Marketing is led by Chloé Brossard, and project management by Laurence Gobeil. Customer service and distribution are managed by Jonathan Desroches and the publication is printed by L’Empreinte.
