Poster and limited run of custom beer cans for Disko.

Poster № 6 shows a six-pack of beer. 250 cans were actually produced, photographed, and sold on the evening—in the spirit of radical authenticity—also serving as a timetable. Disko is a concert and club night series in Zurich that focuses on things, processes and experiences that are real, raw and physical—both for the evenings and the accompanying series of posters. These are designed by co-organizer Hans in rotating collaboration with various friends. All posters engage in an untypical, interesting and physical process, have tear-off tabs, are printed in black on the back of waste posters, and then pasted guerilla style. Otherwise, the design is free and diverse.

Using System is a nod to Swiss graphic history, modernist as well as counter cultural, which is deeply intertwined with the Zurich music scene and therefore with Disko’s identity. The choice of display font, a heavily customized version of Yagi Double, is a nod to the disco / italo disco era and spirit that gives the series its name.
