The Arts and Heritage Center of the Sud-Hérault Community of Municipalities is dedicated to promoting the region’s rich heritage. It aims to cherish, nurture, promote, and bring to life this diverse local heritage through artistic, cultural, and scientific outreach.

In 2023, the Center began the first phase of expansion and accessibility improvements. While work is underway at the center, all programs offered by the Educational Department and the Arts Center will take place on the road in the municipalities of the Sud-Hérault region. The estate therefore sought to reach out beyond its walls and engage with local residents.

New exhibitions and activities are offered every month in each new municipality. These exhibitions are designed using mobile modules created specifically for touring, allowing the artworks to travel and connect with residents from Cazedarnes to Creissan.

The visual identity is structured around points that symbolize each of the cities along the route. This approach evokes both mobility and regional connectivity. Each point becomes a stop, a cultural destination, rooted in a unique local context.

Beyond mere geography, it reflects a desire to forge ties between communities, to highlight their distinct identities while creating a shared narrative. This framework also reflects a strong heritage dimension, showcasing the artistic, historical, and cultural riches of each location and emphasizing the service’s role as a vehicle for cultural dissemination and dialogue across the region.

For the event, Sud-Hérault published a series of documents informing the public about the program and serving as outreach materials (brochures for organizations, workshops, school groups, specific audiences, the general public, etc.)

Each printed item features the “Parcours Itinérance” logo, set within a standardized frame resembling a sign. Designed as a structuring typographic element, this design serves a dual purpose: it visually anchors the route’s identity across all communication materials while emphasizing the notion of movement inherent in the project—a journey connecting various locations and towns within the municipal area.

The educational program is structured around five main themes representing major historical periods and the richness of the local heritage. Guided tours of the major sites in the Sud-Hérault region are organized, along with workshops and themed exhibitions.

The goal is to reconnect with the local area, gain a fresh and informed perspective on the environment, and stimulate creativity. These field trips serve numerous educational purposes through visits to museums, historic monuments, castles, religious buildings, natural and archaeological sites, as well as industrial, viticultural, technical, and architectural heritage sites.
