The whole world within and If we talk about black hair we talk about the whole world are two publications related to an art installation by Leila Ruru Ogbon, The whole world within comprising the documentation of the artwork itself.

The project “If we talk about black hair we talk about the whole world” is an exploration of Black identity, community and resistance. Ogbon places Black hair at the centre of her work to explore the social, political and physical experiences associated with it. Whilst Black hair is analysed in this work as a site of social projections, the focus is also on the Black Hair Salon as a counter-space, as well as on artistic practices.

The typefaces in use are BT Lazlo by Rahel Marbet and BT Circuit by Matthieu Dillier.
