Miniatures. Trésors cachés du disque pour enfants is a book by Radio Minus, published by L’Articho. Developed over eight years, the 800-page publication documents and contextualizes the history of children’s records on an international scale. It covers a broad range of formats, including songs, musical tales, educational records and soundtracks for children’s programmes, examining their development alongside the major musical movements of the second half of the 20th century.
The book is divided into seven thematic sections addressing the origins and development of children’s records, their place within the music industry and the changing cultural perspectives surrounding childhood. It brings together 52 interviews with artists, educators and specialists, alongside 865 images and historical documents.
Designed by Félicité Landrivon and L’Articho, the publication measures 15.5 × 31 × 6.5 cm and weighs 1.5 kg. It is printed in four-colour offset with two Pantone colours on Holmen 70 g/m² paper, with a bodonienne binding and a laminated cover printed with four Pantone colours.
Radio Minus was founded in 2013 as a project dedicated to documenting, preserving and sharing lesser-known records made for or by children. Originally established as a web radio, it has since developed a collection of hundreds of rare recordings from around the world.
