Sonic Acts Biennial 2026 brought together more than 200 artists across over 20 venues in Amsterdam, spanning sound, moving image, performance, installation and other forms of experimental art and culture.

The visual identity, designed by Anja Kaiser and Knoth & Renner, pairs JL Limpet Granite by Jung-Lee Type Foundry with BST Bazaine Mono by British Standard Type. The two typefaces form a contrasting typographic language that runs throughout the biennial’s identity, programme and dedicated website.

Limpet, an expressive serif, brings a distinctive and animated voice to the identity, contrasting with the structured character of Bazaine Mono, a fixed-width contrast grotesk. Together they move between expression and order, from large-scale display typography to dense layers of programme information.
