Pinko Manifesto, 2019

Pinko describes itself like this:

Pinko is a collective for thinking gay communism together. We publish print issues, books, zines, and host essays, translations and archival material on our website.

The New York-based queer collective used Dr. Gerard Unger’s Alverata on its website and in its print edition. Alverata is a contemporary, eclectic font family inspired by type from medieval Europe. The design also experiments with the characters themselves by exchanging straight lines for curves and vice versa, becoming resolutely modern in the process. Over the years, Pinko paired it with Univers, FF Meta and currently with Inter.
