This country album was first released in 1960 by Coronet Records as Gunfighter: Ballads of the Badmen, with a different cover and without musical credits. The cover shown here is from a 1961 pressing by Diplomat Records. Now the songs are credited to Tex Johnson & his Sixshooters … which appears to be a made-up name, just as the other aliases listed by Discogs: Faro Burke & The Dealers, The Badmen, The Lonesome Valley Singers.

The names of the typefaces are less mysterious. The album title is in Wigwam, a narrow “railroad slab” by Filmotype. The band name features their Goddess, which looks a lot like an informal rendition of Franklin Gothic Extra Condensed. The track listing is set in caps from the geometric Vogue Extra Bold.
