Summer of Seum is an alternative live music event held in Paris that celebrates the raw, experimental, and unconventional side of music. Seum is a widely used French slang word that can be translated to frustration. The world comes the Moroccan Arabic word for venom: سُمّ, soum.
The festival’s second edition brings together 20 bands across three stages over three days—with no DJs—in collaboration with Croux Records and Vaagues de Chaleur. From noise to experimental sounds to intense live performances, Summer of Seum offers a unique and uncompromising experience for curious music lovers.
The identity for the second edition in 2026 uses Arnold Böcklin by the Weisert, foundry and NaN Archy by Hélène Marian. Both are used exclusively in all caps. The visuals are centered around a new mascot: a grinning sun sometimes portrayed with flames for eyes and mouth, a nod to the festival taking place amidst of France’s third heat wave in two months. On the poster, the festival name in Arnold Böcklin, is set around and over the sun, following a kind of elliptical line with the bottom letters being bigger than the ones of top, conveying a kind of spatial dimension to the lettering, a kind of perspective.
The visuals presenting the artists are using solarised pictures with NaN Archy On in all caps and yellow as a unifying color.
