Notes on Plural Intelligence is a bimonthly print and digital journal designed by studio òbelo for IED Istituto Europeo di Design, launched for IED’s 60th anniversary in March 2026. Conceived as a meeting place for voices, projects, and perspectives, it explores design's role as a force for exchange and reflection within contemporary transformations. The journal unfolds across five thematic issues—Together Apart, Now Here Land, Future Memories, Material World, and Never Not Learning—each offering a different lens on how intelligence is being redefined today, bringing forward projects and ideas that question established viewpoints, engage with complexity, and imagine plural futures.

Visually, the journal translates IED’s broader identity into an editorial system built around typography as a tool for hierarchy, rhythm, and variation. Farmacia by Nguyen Gobber, the identity’s primary display typeface, is used for titles and prominent editorial elements. Its distinctive rounded alternate O references IED’s trademark and turns the typography itself into a recognisable part of the visual language. It is paired with Antarctica by newglyph, which goes beyond a purely supporting role to also appear in titles and editorial accents, introducing contrast and variation and allowing the system to adapt to the publication's different voices and contents.
