This little booklet published by Huberty & Breyne gallery contains a selection of drawings from Gilles Barbier’s Naufrages / Shipwrecks series. The binding of the sheets with an elastic allows us to reappropriate the story, which shows us the birth and fall of an island. This multi-faceted narrative is a recurring theme in the artist’s work. The stories he tells us oscillate between irony and disenchantment, between dark ideas and lyricism. It was designed by me, Geoffrey Bourgeois, using the typeface ABC Marist.
