Jetix was founded on February 14, 2004 as Disney’s primary international successor to Fox Kids after their 2001 purchase of Fox Family Worldwide – not to be confused with their 2019 acquisition of 21st Century Fox.
In the United States, the brand was broadcast as a block on Toon Disney and ABC Family. It began on the former as ABC Family’s Action block, but was exclusive to Toon Disney due to the channel slumping in the ratings. Both Toon Disney and Jetix would merge together to form Disney XD in the USA. Jetix internationally would primarily be rebranded to become Disney XD, and in some parts of the world, Jetix would rebrand into Disney Channel.
The block was known for its wide variety of shows like Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!, Pucca, Yin Yang Yo!, W.I.T.C.H., A.T.O.M., Ōban Star-Racers, and more. The main font used for Jetix was Jetix Luggage, which was Disney’s and Jetix’s own custom-made version of Jason Koerner’s Luggage.
