A study of mass media in Peru, through a lens of economy and politics. The book was written in 1977, a period of transition from the leftist military government of Velasco towards democracy but also a turn towards capitalism and US influence. Hence a significant part of the book deals with the nationalisation of private media companies during the times of the military regime.

The cover is set in an unidentified serif font (with a quite unique M and a suspiciously bold S) and what appears to be ITC Avant Garde Gothic, but with an unusual R which could maybe be a modified B. The text on the back cover is composed in the Selectric version of Univers while the name of the publisher, Editorial Horizonte, is set in Helvetica.
