Book design for Hurled Towards the Future: Lesbian Photography and Queer Imagination in 1980s London by Flora Dunster. Published by Paul Mellon Centre in hardback, 190×254 mm, 232 pages.

I wanted the design to feel like a cross between a literary journal and a photography book, with a touch of 1980s swagger and a shellac-like hardness. Taking inspiration from publications that feature in the book, such as Stolen Glances, the use of white space and letterspaced italics was a conscious part of the styling. No apologies.
