gathering softly is a hybrid publication by Anna-Lena Oehm, exploring online collections and ways to preserve them. Developed as a BA project at Hochschule Mainz under the supervision of Alexander Roidl, it combines a website with a printed catalog generated and designed through code. The publication brings selected web collections into print as an experiment in web archiving.

DaVinci and OCR-X appear across the project, pairing the flowing title lettering with compact text and indexes. The images in this post show the printed book alongside its web counterpart. The catalog is printed on Salzer EOS 1.3, 60 g paper.
