Fri-Son has been a cornerstone of Fribourg’s independent music scene since 1983. Founded as a self-managed cultural venue, it has grown into one of Switzerland’s most respected concert halls, renowned for its eclectic programming that brings together underground acts, emerging talents, and internationally acclaimed artists.
As part of the 2024 redesign of Fri-Son's visual identity by Bureau Strada, SC Walla became a key element of the venue's graphic language. Used across seasonal campaign posters, folded programs, banners, and other promotional material, the typeface reinforces the venue's independent spirit while providing a distinctive voice across its communications.
Describing the visual system, Bureau Strada explains:
The design reuses the system of bubbles, textures, and structural elements established for Fri-Son’s identity, condensed into a more playful structure. The visuals emphasize the contrast between organic shapes and simple geometric elements, keeping the artists at the center of attention. One of our goals was to design each asset to be engaging both from a distance and up close, with layers of detail that reward closer inspection.
