Le Surréalisme was published in conjunction with the exhibition at the Centre Pompidou, marking the centennial of the publication of the Surrealist Manifesto. The book was designed by Anaïs Lancrenon, who chose Boogy Brut and Boogy Brut Poster for the book typography:
I chose the Boogy Brut typeface from the Bureau Brut foundry. I particularly like the boldness of this typeface, especially the uppercase letters in the “Poster” version, which I used for the titles. The distinctive serifs on certain letters, such as the A, give the book’s sections a strong and poetic identity: Chimeras – Dreams – Labyrinth – Melusine – Alice…
