Designed by Deset Deka Desing studio from Prague, the poster promotes an exhibition about the Czech collective Domácí umění (“Domestic Art”) – a side project by the design studio, dedicated to postmodern Czechoslovak folk design created between 1948 and 1989. Rather than celebrating officially recognized design, Domácí umění explores vernacular creativity, from DIY objects and amateur craftsmanship to domestic interiors and everyday visual culture, highlighting a largely overlooked chapter of Czech design history.
The visual identity is set in Maria Connected, whose interconnected letterforms echo the exhibition's central idea: individual objects, stories, and makers forming a broader cultural landscape. The typeface contributes a contemporary voice while subtly referencing the handmade and improvised qualities of the artifacts presented in the exhibition. The secondary monospaced typeface is yet to be identified.
