Sign for a bakery and pastry shop in Toulon, France, documented by Étienne Pouvreau. While “Patisserie” is custom script lettering, “Boulangerie” closely follows Roger Excoffon’s Banco. The inclined all-caps typeface was first cast in 1951 by Fonderie Olive in Marseille – less than fifty miles west of Toulon.
