Published for the 2021 Biennale de l’Image en Mouvement (BIM), co-curated by DIS and Andrea Bellini, the catalog accompanies an exhibition of newly commissioned works by international artists. Conceived by DIS as a “pilot season”, the biennial brings together a broad range of new works and perspectives while deliberately departing from conventional exhibition formats. Reflecting this approach, the catalog separates images and texts into two complementary volumes, housed in a welded carton slipcase and echoing the distinction between a screenplay and a finished film. LL Geigy Mono forms the typographic foundation of both books, organising editorial text, captions and navigational elements into a coherent system, while Arial Black provides a contrasting voice for for emphasis and text hierarchy.
