Alan Menken's website serves as a central platform to showcase the multi-award-winning composer's life and work. Visitors can explore his biography and gain deeper insight into his remarkable career, from his musical milestones at Disney to his successes on Broadway.

The website was designed by Hello Monday, a design agency with offices in New York and Copenhagen. Its aesthetic is clean, timeless, and modern, allowing Menken’s work to take center stage while maintaining a distinctive visual identity.

Typography plays a key role in this balance. It remains understated enough to let the content shine yet adds a unique character to the site’s design. Only two typefaces are used, both individually and in combination. The primary font, ITC Clearface, appears in headings and body text across the website in various sizes and colors. Its timeless and welcoming quality makes it a fitting choice, bridging classic and modern aesthetics. This contrast is further emphasized by its pairing with a second alphabet. The monolinear script was custom-designed by Hello Monday’s designer Sindy Ethel specifically for the site. It’s here listed as Alan Menken. While the actual name of this font remains unknown, its playful and expressive nature perfectly aligns with Menken’s artistic spirit, adding a touch of whimsy to the headings and navigation elements. Its animated appearance also causes delight and expresses a fun vibe.

Together, these typefaces create a visual harmony that mirrors Menken’s ability to blend tradition with innovation—making his website as engaging and dynamic as his music.
