Love Chronicles by British folk musician Al Stewart was featured on Fonts In Use before. The US release by Epic Records came with a cover design that’s quite different from the one distributed in the UK, featuring a photograph of Stewart back to back with a woman, superimposed with an image of a rose in relief.

The Art Deco-ish signpainter caps at the top are from an early typeface by Photo-Lettering: Shaggy originated at the pioneering phototype company from New York sometime before 1950. It might have been drawn by Harold Horman, but that’s unconfirmed. The all-caps Shaggy is set on a curve, with slightly condensed letterforms.

The photograph of Stewart in a fur coat that featured on the front cover of the CBS release was relegated to the back and printed in black, next to the liner notes by Fred Binkley.
