Tempus, a hand-picked, cold-pressed Italian extra virgin olive oil, uses AL Werner for the logotype featured across the bottle labels, designed by graphic designer Francesca Varalda in collaboration with Sofia Atzori and Alice Atzori.

The visual identity takes its cue from the pintadera, circular clay stamps bearing geometric motifs that first appeared during the Neolithic period and were used to imprint decorative patterns. With its deliberately simple, almost primordial letterforms, AL Werner naturally complements Varalda’s direction for one of humanitys oldest craft traditions. Four Grotesk Regular by HAL Typefaces accompanies it for the supporting texts and information.

Words from Tempus:

Tempus, as one might easily guess, means ‘time’ in Sardinian and highlights the fundamental aspect of our project: taking time, slowing down from everyday life, and using our hands to create an object that becomes part of daily life.
