Redscout partnered with Fazer Confectionery to develop the naming, visual identity, and packaging for Nordi, a Finnish chocolate brand created for the US market.
The identity draws inspiration from mid-century Finnish travel posters, borrowing their ability to romanticize place through bold typography and striking imagery. By making Finland itself the differentiator in the crowded chocolate aisle, the identity awakens a sense of wonder, inviting customers to discover Finland through its chocolate.
This approach informed both the custom Nordi wordmark and the photography on pack, transforming each chocolate bar into a contemporary travel poster for Finland.
Knockout by Hoefler&Co. was selected to extend the character of the custom wordmark across the broader system. Its tall, compact proportions reinforce the bold, poster-like presence of the identity, while allowing more space for the photography to carry the story.
