Soma café

Published November 2, 2026

Soma Café is a lively spot for coffee, drinks and tasty snacks not far from Prague’s main train station. Graphic designer Štěpán Polič of Lemon Design chose the bold lines of Patrycja Walczak’s Poltik Display for Soma’s logo and identity materials. “It fit perfectly to this purpose,” he says. “I was looking for just a few letters, four letters which had a strong, expressive feel, so it fit perfectly.” Poltik also has five text weights plus italics, as well as variable fonts. Poltik is used for the cafe menu.

Poltik’s reverse contrast design – winner of the 2023 Gerard Unger Scholarship – was inspired by the numbers on a 1970s Polish clock Walczak found in her grandfather’s drawer.
