The Budget was a newspaper in Elmira, New York, in 1893 and 1894. The U.S. Postal Card is Scott catalog #UX9, issued December 1, 1886.

“THE BUDGET” is set in Gothic Bold, a wood type design with horizontal stress, first shown by Hamilton Manufacturing Co. in 1889. The bold extended oldstyle face used in all caps for “ELMIRA, N. Y.” is Astoria, issued by Barnhart Brothers & Spindler by 1893.

“POSTAL CARD”, “UNITED STATES” and “ONE CENT” is lettering. It is unclear whether the small line in sans-serif caps is type or not. Lining Gothic is similar.
