For the playoffs and Super Bowl season, KFC Mexico took the NFL experience to the next level. As part of the NFL’s Global Markets Program, an initiative to build fanbases outside the U.S., it opened several NFL-themed restaurants.
A key element in the ambiance was the neon graphic pieces, designed to immerse fans in a vibrant and energetic atmosphere.
One of the biggest challenges of the project was adapting the Burpee typeface for use in neon signage. This involved meticulous work on optimizing curves, adjusting intersections, and ensuring uniform stroke thickness to guarantee proper light distribution and impeccable readability.
The result: a striking graphic system that not only reinforced the visual identity of the campaign but also created an immersive environment where the excitement of the game could be felt in every detail.
The featured teams are the San Francisco 49ers, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Kansas City Chiefs.
