Letterpress printed poster designed at the Typographic Printing Program, a thirteen-day intensive with Dafi Kühne in Näfels, Switzerland.
The poster promotes Equinox, a transitional sound event staged on the fall equinox, when night and day fall in equal measure. The composition answers this brief with sixteen repetitions of the title “Equinox,” echoing the cyclical pulse of dance music, while smaller type scatters and sparkles across the layout like the natural elements of the setting. Printed in metallic silver, the sixteen forms catch light at varying angles and opacities, creating a shifting, transitional glow that mirrors the equinox itself.
Printed on Stardream Mono 110 with Pantone 877 C.
Typeset with Record Gothic Bold Extended and Ludlow Square Gothic.
