Catalogue of the exhibition Avatars de Rousseau. Héritage et postérités (Rousseau’s avatars. Legacy and posterity), shown at the Grenoble Study and Information Library from 26 April to 26 July 2012, on the occasion of Rousseau’s tercentenary.

The main typeface of the catalogue is New Fournier BP, designed by François Rappo in 2011. It is based on the types cut by Pierre-Simon Fournier in 1742, an engraver and type founder born the same year as Jean-Jacques Rousseau. As the exhibition Avatars de Rousseau presents people who influenced Rousseau as well as people whom Rousseau influenced, it was interesting, beyond the historical aspect, to work with a typeface that was influenced by another one, as both are revivals. New Fournier is supported by Graphik.

The book was edited by Brice Frigau Bonfanti and Ludovic Burel, and published by It: éditions.
