From the website of design studio Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv:

July 4, 2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in the United States. America250 is the nonpartisan organization charged with orchestrating the 250th Anniversary and aims to create the most inclusive commemoration in American history.

The inspiration for the mark comes from red, white, and blue ribbons, which signify commemoration, celebration, and purpose. For America250, a flowing red, white, and blue ribbon forms the number 250 as a single continuous path, suggesting unity, cooperation, and harmony. The dynamic, vibrant icon is joined by the name America in an elegant serif lettering to establish a visual identity for this important milestone and beyond.

The serif used for the logotype is Begum. The fonts used on the america250.org website are DM Serif Text and Open Sans which are both available under an open-source license.
