A booklet issued by the Liverpool based paint manufacturer Goodlass Wall & Co. Ltd. who produced a range of paints under the Valspar brand. The cheerful face was possible by way of this publicity booklet that told you the easiest way of applying Valspar paints and how to make the best choice of the “entrancing” colours available. These included gloss/lacquers, eggshell, emulsion, varnishes amd primers. It was issued on 1 January 1959.

Goodlass Wall was formed in 1840 and, as a public company, merged in 1930 with Associated Lead Manufacturers Ltd., lead being then a major component of many paints, to form Goodlass, Wall and Lead Industries Ltd. In 1954 Goodlass Wall were effectively spun out to concentrate on manufacturing the Valspar range. As well as their Liverpool factory they had branches in Buenos Aires, Durban, Bombay, Montevideo and Cork.
