The Acting Together magazine was the result of a very special field trip to Armenia as part of the reconciliation project “Acting Together” between Armenia and Turkey in memory of the Armenian genocide of 1915, an event that as of yet has not been recognised by Turkey.

The 10-day journey was implemented by two organisations, Germany’s DVV International and the Hazarashen Armenian Center for Ethnological Studies, with a group of participants tracing the escape route of Armenian refugees fleeing the genocide in hopes of building new bridges between the two neighbouring nations. On their way the participants spoke to many descendents of the surviving families. They documented their stories, impressions, and experiences by way of interviews and looking at family chronicles and photo albums.

This collection was then processed and designed into a 200-page magazine in a workshop led by the FROH! team. The magazine is trilingual (Armenian, English, Turkish) and available as a PDF to download free of charge.

TypeTogether was very happy to support this noble endeavour with Adelle Sans . The font family is being used for titles, headlines, and the English texts. Adelle Sans Armenian provides a clean and spirited take on the traditional grotesque sans for Armenian audiences. Whether for branding, signage, or advertising, the keyword behind Adelle Sans Armenian’s use is flexibility. The serif used for longer text is GHEA Aragast by Edik Ghabuzyan.
