The new visual identity of the University of Gdańsk (Uniwersytet Gdańskí / UG) was overhauled in 2021, incorporating modern and clear typography, a strong progressive color blue and a functional combination of institute’s initials with two crosses on a modular grid.
The new mark was selected during a closed competition. It was first appreciated by a jury of experts (e.g., the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk), then met with the approval of the UG staff and, after refinement, was adopted by the Senate. The University gained a new mark and an online brandbook that will facilitate the use of the logo.
For the logo we have used Obibok from Laïc, and secondary inforation is set in DM Sans from Colophon.
