H.D. Cleverdon, a family-run candlemaker in Ontario, Canada, draws inspiration from its founder's great-grandfather. This influence permeates their candle-making process and product names. They partnered with Toronto's Fook branding studio to create an identity reflecting candle quality, comfort, and their authentic story.

H.D. Cleverdon, beloved within the family, embodied warmth and care, traits integral to the company. Fook ensured his essence was genuinely captured by listening to anecdotes that highlighted his impact. The result is a brand that embodies top-notch candle craftsmanship, personality, and a distinct voice.

The logo features Romie, a display serif by Margot Lévêque, evoking confidence and sophistication with a touch of approachability. This choice emphasizes craftsmanship and warmth, supported by the smaller serif typeface Georgia by Matthew Carter.
