Polish feminist avant-garde artist Natalia Lach-Lachowicz a.k.a. Natalia LL (born 1937) worked with paint, photography, drawing, performance, and video art.

Bureau Est designed a catalogue accompanying Natalia LL’s retrospective The Mysterious World at Francisco Carolinum in Linz, Austria. The type palette features Zangezi Sans and Zangezi by Daria Cohen for titles, and AG Buch by Günter Gerhard Lange for running text.

Note how the designers combined different fonts in the headlines: neutral AG Buch is contrasted by expressive Zangezi Sans. The most interesting part is how italic and upright styles of Zangezi Sans are mixed together within words. A meticulous work resulting in striking compositions, where each word almost becomes a logotype.

Sebastian A. Schmitt provided the art direction.
