The Hurting is the debut studio album by the English band Tears for Fears, released in 1983 on the Mercury label.

The international cover art as well as the standard cover art (not shown here) were both set in Delphin, with enlarged capitals. The inner sleeve credits and lyrics were set in Palatino Italic, with titles in all-lowercase Delphin.
