This is my book titled Sztuka wykonania szkicu. Poradnik o tym, jak kształcić umiejętności w rysunku artystycznym, aby z sukcesem zdać egzamin wstępny do liceum plastycznego lub na uczelnię ASP (English: “The Art of Making a Sketch. A Guide on How to Develop Skills in Artistic Drawing to Successfully Pass the Entrance Exam to an Art High School or an Academy of Fine Arts”).
The textbook is dedicated to artistically talented people who plan to take entrance exams to state art high schools or to the Academy of Fine Arts in Poland. In the book, I provide knowledge on how to learn to sketch. The ability to sketch is the basis for developing manual artistic skills. These, in turn, are necessary to pass the entrance exam to an art high school or an Academy of Fine Arts.
The book contains an introduction, two theoretical chapters, and ten pages of illustrations and their descriptions (for pencil and marker sketches). Other pages are also illustrated. I created all the drawings myself. The book has forty-four pages.
I designed the book according to the golden ratio. The font used is EB Garamond. This classic graphic design perfectly captures the spirit of the book, as it is dedicated to a classic art form: drawing.
I present the golden ratio principle here in the design of the title pages. The design area is defined by a frame with a red edge, and the area of this frame is delineated by the golden ratio, shown here with green lines.
