1978 re-release front cover
The shown cover art is the most popular version of Spyro Gyra’s debut album, released in 1978 and distributed by MCA Records when the band signed with Amherst Records.
The original 1977 version featured different cover art and was self-released on the Crosseyed Bear label. This independent release is much rarer and a sought-after collector's item, commanding higher prices among jazz-fusion record collectors.
The cover for the reissue was designed by Chris Maggo with original art by Sheila Rose. It has the band’s name set in Cinema. Back cover’s typography features Stymie alongside Helvetica for the smallest bits.
