The Sculptural Book is an “an Investigation on the intersections between sculpture and book”. The project is Mario Naegele’s diploma thesis made at ZHdK. In March 2024, the first event took place at House of Books with a talk by Rahel Zoller. From Mario Naegele:

To explore the mutualities between sculpture, object and book, the serial format invites artists and designers to a series of presentations. With a focus on the physical and haptic qualities of the book, the format provides lectures by and conversations with international protagonists from the art and design field.

Rahel Zoller is a London based artist, educator, book arts and design specialist. Her work questions the concept of what a book is by subverting, embracing, and interrogating the form and materiality of the book itself, considering the interaction between user, creator and society.

For the design of the poster, Mario Naegele used Herbus by Eliott Grunewald and Melange Grotesk by kimera.
