This cover design is a rare example in which Lydian’s lowercase takes center stage. More often than not, Warren Chappell’s serifless roman is used in all caps.

The album features recordings of The Nutcracker Suite and the Polovetzki Dances from Prince Igor as performed by the Nord Deutsches Symphony Orchestra (Sinfonieorchester des Norddeutschen Rundfunks, today known as NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra) conducted by Wilhelm Röhr (a recording pseudonym by Wilhelm Schüchter). It was released in 1960 by Pye Golden Guinea Records in the UK and, with the same cover design, by Somerset Records in the US. Illustrations by Joe Krush.
