Never Caught is the story of “the Washingtons’ relentless pursuit of their runaway slave, Ona Judge”, as told by Erica Armstrong Dunbar. The book was published in 2017 by 37 INK, an imprint of the Atria Publishing Group and Simon & Schuster, Inc. 37 INK was founded by Dawn Davis, an African-American woman, and specializes in books by and about Black people.

The cover shows the text integrated into the image, set in caps from Caslon Antique and Besley Clarendon. No designer is credited. Interior design (not shown here) by Amy Trombat. The National Book Award sticker uses Palatino.
