The salon hair care brand Matrix has been around since 1980. Arnie Miller, a hairdresser from America, and his wife Sydell founded the company, inspired by the idea of synergy and togetherness.

What Arnie envisioned was a matrix of support for every stylist, every hair type, and every business model. It’s only natural for the packaging to align with his vision. The 2021 rebrand aimed for inclusivity – it debuted the Hair Diversity Matrix (a scorecard system ensuring all products meet a wide variety of hair type needs. To enter the new era, the brand unveiled a new logo with a rainbow twist, and new packaging.

The font of choice? Fontfabric’s Mont – a modern sans-serif typeface born from the pursuit of geometric clarity and minimal elegance. Built from the basics (circle, square, triangle), it embraces sharp details while preserving soft, circular proportions in some characters.
