Plato is one of the three widths of Filmotype’s series of informal Cooperish bold serifs with bouncing letterforms. It was issued in 1955, together with the narrower Party and Peruvian.

This cover for an early album by comedian and parodist Allan Sherman (1924–1973), recorded with various friends including Sylvia Froos and Fyvush Finkel and released in 1963 by Jubilee Records, features the typeface almost exclusively in capital letters. The design is credited to Stephen P. Haas Studios.
